Part 2: Dreaming in Disneyland

Disneyland

The happiest place on earth!

When I was a little girl, I loved Disney movies.

I particularly loved Sleeping Beauty.  I watched it over and over and over again. I would tell my Mum when she would tuck me into bed how when I was older and I had a great job I would take her to Disneyland.  And here we are… A little girl’s dreams into reality.  Whilst writing this, it brings a tear to my eye.

Enough with the sentimentalities – here’s the low down on Disneyland:

danyellekelly.comWe went on a Tuesday at the start of June, just when schools were being let out, so it wasn’t too busy.  This is the key!  Be sure to attend at a time when schools are in and on a weekday.

Tickets are around $125 each, however, we were able to purchase tickets through a For Sale group online for around $90 each.  If you do some research on Craigslist there are a few people who need to sell their tickets.

As we were only going for one day we wanted to make the most of our time and this is what we were recommended to do by connoisseurs of Disneyland (they’ve been over 20 times).  I’m going to respond as to whether this was worth it or not, so you can get an idea of what different people like for different reasons.

GET a fastpass (essentially a ticket by the ride entrance to come back to the ride at a time interval to skip the line, if you’re confused ask ANYONE who works there they would be happy to help you with ANYTHING).

These are photos just after the Matterhorn,it was an extreme ride.  If you like exhilarating rides, this is for you.  There are some humps and bumps, so expect to get a little bruised.  I loved it.  It was great.

Thunder Mountain – didn’t get a chance parPart 2: Dreaming in Disneylandticipate in this ride.  It’s highly recommended though 🙂

Food:

Gumbo at Royal Street Veranda (in New Orleans corner) <– we didn’t have this one, but had the clam chowder.  It was delish!

danyellekelly.comAlso try getting reservations for the restaurant inside Pirates of Caribbean ride (in the New Orleans corner street there should be an entrance where you can make a reservation the place is called Blue Bayou. The ambiance is nice). <– We didn’t get to do this, but would highly recommend it!

I tried booking the Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant, unfortunately it was booked out, however, Aladdin’s restaurant was available and we also got to enter into a screened off area for the Fantasmic show later that evening.  Check out the food and ambiance, it was nice and quiet here to rest whilst we regained our strength.

Didn’t do these – but they were recommended:
t
– Star Tours (Fun moving ride)
– Buzz Lightyear (shooting/interactive ride)
– It’s a small world – on the way to Mickey’s ToonTown
– Frozen – Fantasyland
– Peter Pan – Fantasyland

And then it was time to go…… the beautiful Fantasmic show was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.  Go to Disneyland, it’s a beautiful experience.

Blessings
